Over the past three years, Lebone II — College of the Royal Bafokeng, in Phokeng in North-West province, has hosted its annual student-driven Lebone Leadership Festival.

This year, a diverse array of students from coalition schools, independent schools, public schools, international schools and schools that belong to the Royal Bafokeng Nation gathered together from 5 to 10 July to engage in conversation that will improve their leadership qualities.

This year’s theme was gender studies, with a special focus on feminism and masculinity. Young delegates discussed the role of women in society, sexism and understanding social and cultural ideologies surrounding women in the world, and issues to do with masculinity.
