On 19 September 2015, St Andrew’s School for Girls in Senderwood, Johannesburg, hosted its annual Spring Expo, which has been running since 2009.
It has become a highly anticipated community event, with over 140 stalls and many fun-filled activities. This year, the school was fortunate to receive support from ABSA, which played a key role in making the day a success.
The expo serves as a wonderful opportunity to fundraise for internal stakeholders such as the school’s rowing club — which this year participated in a competitive ergothon (a highly anticipated annual event on the South Africa Schools Rowing Union calendar). The inflatable play area raised money for the 2016 matric dance committee. There was a variety of food stalls in the food court, catering for various culinary tastes.
Fashion, a beer garden, wine tasting, arts and crafts, interior decorating and motor car displays from manufacturers such as BMW and Audi enlivened this year’s expo. Visitors could also try out gym equipment, proudly sponsored by 360 Specialized Training and Virgin Active.
The St Andrew’s School for Girls Spring Expo 2015 was a well- balanced event, providing a wide variety of treats and bargains and offering patrons an opportunity to experience the lush gardens and rich history of the school.
