Connor Mauldon joined the Pretoria Chinese School in Grade 8 in 2009 to find a whole new cultural and sporting world open to him. He chose recurve archery and almost immediately achieved his provincial colours.

Since then he has broken almost every South African and African continental record in his various age groups and won the South African indoor and outdoor championships nearly every year.

Mauldon has now achieved both South African and Protea colours. He has shot at the Junior World Championships in Poland in 2011 and the World Indoor Championships in Las Vegas in 2012, where he won the bronze medal. He is now ranked among the top 30 archers in the world in the junior (U21) division of world archery.

Undoubtedly the highlight of his sporting career so far is winning the International Field Archery Association (IFAA) Indoor World Championships, held in Pretoria in 2011. He also broke two world records at this tournament.

Mauldon is in the South African squad preparing to represent his country at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. He is one of the founding members of TuksArchery and will be studying clinical psychology at Pretoria University from next year.
