New head for SAHETI School

After 39 years of loyal service as the head of SAHETI School, Anastasia Krystallidis is due to retire.

Taking up the position of executive head is Warwick Taylor, who holds a BSc degree in chemistry and chemical sciences from the University of the Witwatersrand and a BEd Honours degree in school management and leadership from the University of Johannesburg.

Taylor taught science at Parktown Boys’ High School and then headed up the science department at King David School, Victory Park. Five years later, he assumed the post of deputy head at King David and then moved to St John’s College in Houghton, Johannesburg, where he was head of science, senior master and deputy headmaster.

During his distinguished career, Taylor has worked closely with the Independent Examinations Board in a number of capacities. At St John’s, he was responsible for a number of key areas including staff development and appraisal, quality assurance, management of the academic timetable, development and implementation of student exchange programmes and strategic planning, focusing on organisational growth and development.

He is married to Brigitte and they have two children.
