Share Your Educational Story

Would you like your educational story to appear as an article in ISASA’s flagship magazine, Independent Education?

The process is quite simple and ISASA Publications welcomes all submissions and is always delighted to include articles from any of our member schools!

We encourage you to indicate your interest in preparing a submission by completing the Write an Article template.

While ISASA Publications may provide some thematic guidance for particular issues from time to time, we are interested in all educational stories and would relish the opportunity to publish yours. We reserve the right to edit for clarity, length or alignment with house style. We may also hold some articles over for later publication or elect to publish them as website exclusive articles.

Please ensure that your article is substantial and provides an in-depth look at a topical education issue, or, equally, is an examination of some of the important work happening at your school. Ideally, your article should prove useful and pertinent to other ISASA member schools. In this way, we can support best practice within our vital sector.

We request that you supply at least three high-resolution, relevant images to feature with your unique story. Please provide these as separate file attachments – do not embed them in the article document. We also request that you provide captions for each of the images, ideally as a separate “captions” document.

We ask that, if at all possible, at least one image is such that it may be considered for the cover. Cover images should be visually interesting and have a vibrant quality. They should also be clear, with sufficient space around the main components of the image to allow for formatting the magazine’s name to appear on the image without obstructing important elements, such as someone’s face. The best format for the focal point of the photo is a ‘portrait’ format with a significant space at the top consisting of background rather than key parts of the image.

All images should have been vetted and the requisite permissions obtained internally by the school in order to comply with the POPIA Act. Please note that images submitted to ISASA Publications may be used on any ISASA platform, including the various websites and in the Weekly Bulletin.

Once you have completed the template, we will contact you to assist you further. Should you have any additional questions about any of the ISASA platforms, please email publications@isasa.org

We look forward to featuring your story!
